The Salmon Run was an amazing day. Students explored the river bank where they witnessed salmon working their way up the river, male salmon fighting for female mates, eggs in the stream and a closeup of many red sockeye salmon. We had discussions of the differences between males and females and how the forest and ecosytem contributes to the success of the salmon spawning. It was just great to get outside, explore our local environment and breathe in some fresh air. This inspired us to continue our learning about these amazing fish.
