Our week consisted of Art Rotations with Mrs. CJ, Ms. Pavluk and Ms. Nordstrom. This brought excitement to our week. Our theme for our pod is "Who am I?" (Identity). We have been exploring this in our classroom with the "Story of my Name" assignment and character traits activities.
In Science this week students learned about the phases of the moon. We drew them, watched videos, and then reenacted the 28 days through an activity involving a ping pong ball and a lamp.
In math, we learned about many strategies on how to add up numbers. Students also were asked to pronounce big numbers such as 528, 345. Next week we will continue with adding and develop faster skills. Also, for those who need more challenges in math we will be starting "The Challenge Activity".
In Language Arts, students worked on words that end in tion, sion, ion. We also worked on comprehension skills of nonfiction reading through a Hot Air Balloon and Lego text.
